(Monday, February 4, 2002) -- Former Fairport High football coach Dave Lanning will be named as an assistant football coach at St. John Fisher College today, the college announced.
Lanning, who retired after the 2000 season, was 60-18 in eight seasons as head coach of the Red Raiders.
Fairport won the Class AA state championship in 1997 and was runner-up in 1998. He also won three Section V championships.
Lanning joins Mike Foster, the former Canandaigua coach who retired after last season, on the staff. Foster was named offensive coordinator in December.
