(Thursday, January 31, 2002) -- Senior Elijah Reid scored 30 points as Churchville-Chili defeated Greece Athena 63-51 to hand Athena its first Monroe County Division II loss on Wednesday.
The host Saints (5-2 league, 10-5 overall) outscored Athena 23-14 in the final quarter, led by Pat Martin, who scored seven of his 12 points.
C-C led 29-26 at the half, and 40-37 after three.
Tony Shaw had 13 points and 12 rebounds and Pat Jenkins pulled down 11 rebounds for the Saints.
Joe Tisa led Athena (6-1, 11-3) with 17 points, including five 3-pointers.
Batavia 65, Pittsford Mendon 55: Joe Zinni scored six of his 11 points in the fourth quarter for Batavia. The win clinched the Division III title for Batavia.
Batavia's pressure defense held Mendon to six points in the third quarter, which allowed the Blue Devils to extend their lead to 12 at the end of the third.
Phillip Santiago had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Batavia (9-1, 14-2).
Chris Shalvoy scored 19 points for Mendon (7-3, 12-4).
Pittsford Sutherland 59, Greece Odyssey 57: Connor Cunningham scored seven of his nine points in the fourth quarter to help seal the win for the host Knights (6-4, 8-7).
Brandon Turner scored six points in the third quarter as Sutherland battled back from a nine-point deficit.
Ean Swinton scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Turner finished with 12 points for Sutherland.
Mike Alonzo helped keep Odyssey close, scoring 15 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter. Alonzo shot 10 for 11 from the free-throw line.
Brockport 59, Webster 49: Nate Wasson scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Brockport (2-5, 7-8).
Chris Wensley scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds for Webster (3-4, 9-6).
Rush-Henrietta 61, Hilton 42: The R-H defense shut out Hilton 17-0 in the third quarter.
Ray Allen scored 17 points to power R-H (9-5).
Jarrod Rapke scored 19 points for Hilton (1-6, 6-9).
Greece Olympia 62, Eastridge 30: Jason Alwardt scored six of his 12 points and Nick Munding scored eight of his 10 points in the third quarter to help Olympia pull away.
Irondequoit 60, Greece Arcadia 44: Joe Walters scored eight points and Steve Foley scored six points in the third quarter as the Indians went on a 19-9 run.
Josh Santiago scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Foley finished with 12 points and eight rebounds for the host Indians (3-4, 6-9).
Chris Green scored 14 points, including seven straight free throws in the fourth quarter, for Arcadia (4-3, 5-10).
Penfield 61, Spencerport 51: Adam Balistere scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead visiting Penfield.
Brian Allen scored 25 points, including five 3-pointers, for Penfield (4-11).
Brian Hugelmaier scored 12 points for the Rangers (0-16).

Caledonia-Mumford 56, Mount Morris 45: Ryan Hallett had 22 points for C-M.
GENESEE REGION
Attica 64, Byron-Bergen 58: Isaiah Colton scored eight points as Attica (9-2, 12-4) rallied from a 48-39 deficit.
B-B is 3-8, 4-12.
Wheatland-Chili 71, Elba 57: Brian Hill scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his 16th consecutive double-double for W-C (7-4, 9-7).
Kendall 72, Holley 45: Shawn Wolfgram scored 14 points to lead Kendall (5-6, 7-8).
