Rhinos schedule released

(Friday, January 4, 2002) -- The A-League released its 2002 schedule and alignment yesterday and the two-time defending champion Rochester Rhinos will open 2002 season at home on Saturday, May 4 against Pittsburgh.

Ten of the team's 14 home games will be on Friday or Saturday, and the home schedule includes a July 4 game against Richmond. The Rhinos will make two three-game road trips, but the second one includes stops in Cincinnati and Indiana, clubs that went a combined 14-38 last year.

The 18-team league has three fewer clubs and has reverted to a two-conference, four-division alignment after last season's three-conference alignment. Rochester is in the Northeast Division with Pittsburgh, Toronto and rival Montreal.
