Adam Vinatieri's final-play field-goal attempt was one yard longer than Scott Norwood's 11 years ago.
Norwood's kick sailed wide right. Vinatieri's went right down the middle.
Vinatieri's 48-yard field goal to give the 14-point underdog New England Patriots a 20-17 victory over St. Louis will be remembered as one of the great clutch kicks in NFL history, but it was a total team effort.

Fairport shows its strength
Anyone who thought the Fairport girls basketball team was Caitlin Howe and a bunch of role players couldn't have been more wrong.
The rest of the Red Raiders got game, and they've been showing it all season.

The Amerks dominated the third period and overtime -- just as they did in Friday's 1-1 tie with Albany -- but needed to rally in order to gain their 13th tie of the season.

New England's secondary -- As many as seven defensive backs played at a time and St. Louis needed three quarters to get its passing game on track. They all played well and intercepted two passes.
